Save Melbourne's Live Music Scene

We need to protect Melbourne's live Music scene from badly drafted legislation.
Recent changes to the new Liquor Licensing laws and some poorly thought out changes to town planning and Council By-Laws have made it harder to keep Live Music and its supporting venues going with the vibrancy we expect.
Meanwhile venues playing canned music and use disc-spinners, who frequently pay little or no royalties to the performers whose music they use, continue to peddle alcohol in vast quantities at high prices to as many people as possible. These venues are also overly represented in the alcohol fueled violence statistics
Lets see some changes that benefit the musicians, the venues and fans who support them all.

Go to the FaceBook page for the Save Melbourne's Live Music Scene and get the current news and have a say.

The April Maze played the music for the introduction and intermission for the public Memorial Service for Raechel Betts at the Centre, Ivanhoe on 29/9/2009. We would like to thank them for their generous offer at such a difficult time and would definitely reccomend themfor similar services, should anyone have the misfortune to have to arrange memorial events. We also reccomend them for the more up-beat events in your lives.
